The language and wording for these applications (also known as keywords) must
be spot on in order to be successful in gaining an interview. In general, there
are 4 parts to your application:
- a cover sheet
- a covering letter
- a résumé
- a statement of claims against the selection criteria
When applying for a position that requires selection criteria, the most
important document will be the selection criteria statement claim where you need
to go into detail about your experience and knowledge. It is important that you
answer these questions correctly if you want to move onto the next stage. At the
beginning, the selection panel will be ticking off the areas that you have met
and the areas you haven’t. They are not going to continually revise the document
to see if you have answered all areas. If they feel that you haven’t answered
any areas then unfortunately you will miss out on progressing to the next stage.
In order for us to write your selection criteria, we do require that you work
collaboratively with us by supplying all relevant information to support your
claim. As we are not familiar with your work history, part of this process will
involve providing us with the selection criteria application so we can ask you a
series of questions. If we require more information, we will then probe you for
more information in order to expand, fine tune, and add keywords to the
document. It is important that you invest time and effort into your answers as
this will help us to demonstrate how you feel you meet each section of the
selection criteria. Keraijen will only work with clients who are prepared to
work collaboratively with us in this process, as we will not compromise
ourselves - or you - by producing a second-rate document, which will in turn
lead to you missing out on progressing to the next stage..
