Keraijen Wins 2007 TORI Award

When Career Directors International held its annual conference in San
Antonio, TX last week, the official winners of this year’s TORI Awards (Toast of
the Résumé Industry) were announced. Local résumé writer, Jennifer Rushton of
Keraijen won the top prize for Best Professional Résumé. Jennifer has been a
consecutive TORI Award winner since her initial participation in 2003 and is
also a Certified Advanced Résumé Writer.

Jennifer Rushton, Principal of Keraijen was interviewed by Miawling Lam on
how job applicants can gain a distinct advantage if they provide a succinct
résumé.
A succinct résumé can significantly boost your job hunting prospects and
potentially even help you land your dream job. This is the consensus among
Sydney’s leading career experts, who agree that a résumé’s importance must not
be under-estimated.
Jennifer Rushton, co-founder of Australian certified résumé writing company
Keraijen, admits candidates usually have about 20 seconds to make an impression,
before a recruiter/potential employer move onto the next applicant in the pile.
Because of this small window of opportunity, Ms Rushton says people need to
create an effective marketing document. Their résuméshould be written
specifically to market and merchandise their talents and steer away from
including many personal particulars such as date of birth, marital status,
sexual orientation and hobbies.
“Your résumé today has to appeal to busy recruiters and it needs to sell
you.”
Ms Rushton also says Australians utilize the services of qualified resume
writers these days because they now understand the benefits of having a sharp
document.
“Your résumé isn’t necessarily going to get you the job but it is designed to
get your foot in the door for an interview” she said.
“When you get your résumé done professionally, its an investment as depending
on where you are on the career ladder, it could mean an extra $100K”.
Keraijen Nominated for 7 TORI Awards

Jennifer Rushton today received 7 TORI (Toast of the Résumé Writing Industry)
nominations for the 2007 TORI Award Competition. This is a 100% nomination rate
and the only Résumé writer to receive this many nominations for the 2007
competition.

Keraijen accepted in speciality résumé directory

Professional Résumé Writers. This 400-page directory, to be published in late
2007 by JIST, will be marketed as the definitive resource for individual job

The TORI Awards were introduced by CDI to celebrate a new standard in
excellence through rigorous criteria requirements. Judged by a panel of industry
leaders, the awards were announced at the CDI’s annual conference in Florida.

Consultant (CEIC), awarded by Career Directors International.
